Scottsdale-based Massage Envy Spa, the pioneer and national leader of professional, convenient and affordable massage and spa services, announced today substantial growth and success in 2014 highlighted by $1 billion earned in system-wide sales. In 2014, Massage Envy Spa also opened 112 clinics across the country, including its 1,000th location in Exton, Pennsylvania. The brand also expanded into West Virginia, which marked the company’s entrance into its 49th state, and also opened its first three locations in New York City. Massage Envy Spa will be targeting Wyoming for expansion in 2015, which will officially bring the brand to all 50 states.

“We are incredibly thrilled with the progression of the Massage Envy Spa brand in 2014,” said Joe Luongo, chief operating officer of Massage Envy Spa. “Our accomplishments last year, including our 1,000th-location-opening milestone, have given us momentum to keep up the growth and expansion in 2015. The brand’s presence in New York City further adds recognition and establishes us as a leader in the health and wellness industry.”

In addition to the clinic openings last year, Massage Envy Spa signed 56 new franchise agreements in 2014, bringing the current total number of licenses across the country to 1,269. According to FRANdata, the franchise industry’s source for objective information and analysis, only 2.4 percent of franchised brands operate 1,000 or more units.

Today, there are 1,052 Massage Envy Spa locations in 49 states, making it the largest system of franchised massage clinics in the industry. The company is also the world’s largest employer of licensed/registered massage therapists, with more than 21,000 therapists and 3,000 estheticians providing more than 16 million massages a year to more than 1.5 million members and guests.

With additional territories available for growth and expansion, the company is looking for franchisee candidates who have the ability and the desire to learn and follow a system that values customer service and satisfaction.
