Local Orthodontist Recognized for Community Contribution

Blair Feldman, D.M.D., of Feldman Orthodontics, was recently selected to be featured as the “Orthodontic Provider of the Week” by Smiles Change Lives, an international nonprofit that provides access to life-changing orthodontic treatment for children from low-income families. Each week, Smiles Change Lives recognizes the work of one orthodontic provider, a team of providers or an orthodontic practice that goes above and beyond the call of duty to support SCL’s mission of bringing improved selfesteem and healthy, happy smiles to the faces of children in need.

Dr. Feldman joined SCL’s unique network of orthodontists in February of 2014. The orthodontist had planned to treat six patients a year through SCL, but has since decided to go the extra mile for his community. Starting mid September, he began accepting a new child for treatment every week until the end of the year, contributing an estimated $105,000 in orthodontic services to the local community. This has greatly reduced the wait time for orthodontic treatment through SCL in the Phoenix area.

“Dr. Feldman and his staff are now some of my biggest heroes. They have really stepped up since learning there was a 60month wait list in the Phoenix area,” states Brooke Vinson, director of Participant Services with SCL, “Now, we will be in position to accept new applications at www.smileschangelives.org/apply.”

According to Dr. Feldman, “Having the ability to give the gift of a beautiful smile is an honor and a privilege. Our office has always been a charitable business that frequently gives back to the community. When we learned about Smiles Change Lives, we knew we found an organization that could help us give back to the community in the best way we know how. They help us to find the right people to receive the gift of a smile. Smiles Change Lives is an organization with a mission that we are proud to support and look forward to working with them for many years.”
